Building Community and Resilience: Healing Appalachia 2022 (Photos)

On September 23rd and 24th 2022, Hope in the Hills put on the third annual Healing Appalachia event to raise funds and awareness for recovery in the Appalachian region. Whizzbang has been a long-time supporter of this event going back to its inception. The benefit concert was a concept that was brought up and pushed forward between WhizzbangBAM artist, Tyler Childers, and WhizzbangBAM’s Ian Thornton & Charlie Hatcher.

The lineup consisted of WhizzbangBAM members Tyler Childers, Arlo McKinley, and Buffalo Wabs & the Price Hill Hustle, as well as some other amazing artists who also donated their time, including Margo Price, Galactic, Lucero, Lost Dog Street Band, Vince Herman Band, Jeremy Pinnell, TK & The Holy Know-Nothings, and Tommy Prine.

Surrounded in a place of love, recovery, and community, each artist took the stage for a great cause. In between sets, we got to hear a little bit from a member of the recovery community who shared their story. Each act also spoke on the importance of Healing Appalachia and how special it is that they were able to perform.

To share the event for those who were unable to attend, Healing Appalachia has released various snippets, as well as a recap video and a full song from each act that performed in 2022 on their Youtube Channel. You can find all those and more here.
